$100,000-Still in Custody

According to Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz, “On November 13, 2021 St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s deputies responded to 107 Spruce Street in Opelousas in reference to a complaint of a stabbing.”

According to reports and witnesses, the victim was stabbed after trying to calm down Maze after she began arguing with another person in the house. The victim stated he told Maze just to “leave it alone and to let it go.” Maze then picked up a knife off the coffee table causing the other person to run out of the house. The victim walked towards the kitchen when Maze turned her attack to him. The victim fell to the floor and Maze continued to stab him in multiple parts of his body. Maze began yelling at the victim to die. After stabbing the victim, Maze fled the home. The victim was transported to an area hospital and did not have to undergo any surgeries.

After the investigation was complete, a warrant was issued for Kendra Maze. Maze was then located and arrested then transported to the parish jail for booking. Maze did not give any statements to the deputies about the incident.

On behalf of Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz, this is Deputy Chief Eddie Thibodeaux. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
