Update: Opelousas Police have made an arrest in regards to the July 4th early morning shooting that left one man seriously injured. Investigators arrested 19 year old Zkeria Francis of Opelousas for her involvement in the crime. Zkeria Francis was booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail on the following charges:
1. Principal to attempted first degree murder 2 counts.
2. Principal to illegal use of a weapon or dangerous instrumentalities. 2cts.
Opelousas Police are also looking for Mr. Johnathan “Red” Joseph Jr. of Opelousas for his role in the crime. Mr. Joseph is also facing the following charges.
1. Principal to attempted first degree murder 2cts.
2. Principal to illegal use of a weapon or dangerous instrumentalities. 2cts.
3. Aggravated criminal damage property
4. Illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Joseph and Francis conspired to have the victim in the crime go to a particular location where Joseph fired upon the victim and another passenger in a vehicle that they were riding in.
