In reference to a mid afternoon shooting that occurred on February 15, 2022 in the area of the 1300blk of Mouton St. Opelousas Police need the publics assistance in locating a 3rd suspect involved in the shooting. (2) suspects have previously been arrested and charged in connection with the shooting. The initial investigation resulted from officers responding to a shots fired call in the 1300blk of Mouton St. at about 1:30 P.M. on 2.15.2022. Responding officers contacted one person in the area within (2) minutes of being dispatched and he was taken into custody after he was found to be illegally carrying a concealed firearm with (2) loaded magazines totaling over 35 rounds of live ammunition. Officers then discovered that at least (9) rounds were fired during an alleged exchange of gun fire between two suspects that resulted from an ongoing domestic dispute. A (1) year old child was present in a vehicle being operated by one of the parties engaged in the shooting. Fortunately no one was injured in the incident. Already arrested in the investigation were:
Willie King III, age 48, 1115 Walsh Street, Opelousas, LA 70570, Illegal carrying of a weapon.
Donald Jerhmaine Berry, age 40, 1322 Poppy Drive, Opelousas, LA 70570, Illegal use of weapons, cruelty to juveniles, obstruction of justice.
Police are also looking for Mr. Ranvill Richard age 34 of Opelousas, LA 70570 for his involvement in the incident.
