Today’s photo from the past is another one from a Yambilee Parade held during the late 1940s. The parade is headed south down Court Street.
In the photo, to the left between the Opelousas Federal Building/Post Office and the New Drug Store building, is a small building that is located where the Low’s Arcade was later built. That small building was the Yambilee Festival office at that time.
Notice all the trees in downtown Opelousas during that time. So great to see that. (Carola Lillie Hartley collection.)
