OPELOUSAS: The Central St. Landry Economic Development District, in partnership with the City of Opelousas, is hosting a ribbon cutting event to celebrate the official completion of the new multi-million dollar wastewater treatment facility on the southern end of Opelousas. Located near the entrance to Clos De Bois subdivision on the I-49 S. Service Road, the ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. on Friday, July 15th.

This project is the result of a partnerships across many levels of government from local to state and we are excited to welcome many of our elected officials at each level.

WHY: The southern portion of the I-49 corridor in St. Landry Parish has seen
significant commercial and residential growth which resulted in a need for
increased infrastructure capacity. Local officials committed to not only
supporting the current development but also being prepared for the future.
