On 10.18.22 at approximately 8:24 P.M. Opelousas Police responded to a shots fired call in the area of Hayward and Mouton St.
One adult male victim was located at a residence several blocks away from the original scene after he fled the area on foot and ran to a residence known to the victim. The victim was taken to a local hospital by private vehicle. The victim’s injuries are considered to be non-life threatening.
Details of what led to the shooting are still being gathered at this time. At least one residence and a vehicle were also struck by shots fired in the area. Police are currently on scene. More details will be released when they are available.
