UPDATE – ARREST MADE IN MURDER CASE
A 15 year old male juvenile was arrested today and charged with 2nd Degree Murder and Juvenile in Possession of a Handgun. He was booked and transferred to the Lafayette Parish Juvenile Detention Center where he is being housed.
St. Landry Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz is confirming that his office is investigating a late night homicide in the city of Washington.
On 12-31-21 at 11:50PM, deputies were dispatched to the 300 block of East Saint Mitchell Street in Washington relative to a male subject that was shot.
The victim was identified as Keith Adam Joseph age 38 of Washington.
The preliminary investigation revealed the victim was involved in an argument with a male subject that resulted in the male subject shooting the victim once in the chest. The victim died as a result of an apparent single gunshot round to the chest. The male subject then fled the scene prior to deputy’s arrival. Several witnesses were located at the scene and provided information on the circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigation is still on-going and no other details are available.
