On May 31, 2023 just after 1030 A.M. Opelousas Police were called to investigate a disturbance in the area of Planters St. Upon arrival officer’s learned that a disagreement had occurred between 23 year old Deandra Authorlee of Opelousas and an adult male family member. During the altercation Authorlee produced a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times. Authorlee fled the area on foot when officers arrived. The victim was transported to a local hospital and was treated for several stab wounds that was received during the incident. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Authorlee for one count of attempted second degree murder.
