CHURCH POINT RESIDENT CONNECTED TO

NUMEROUS THEFTS AND BURGLARIES IN ST. LANDRY PARISH

According to Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz, “During the week of January 7, 2022, St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives were able to locate Kevin Tyler Meaux, who is a wanted individual in reference to numerous thefts and burglaries in the Lewisburg and Church Point area.  Kevin Meaux was arrested on various outstanding warrants and incarcerated at the St. Landry Parish Jail.”

According to the detectives, it was determined that Kevin Tyler Meaux was arrested while attempting to sell a Lincoln electric welding machine.  Upon recovering the welding machine, investigators observed that the power cables had been cut.  After Kevin Meaux’s arrest, detectives began obtaining information on different locations that were used to hide stolen items.

Upon further investigation, detectives recovered a stolen four wheeler that was taken from the Church Point area in Acadia Parish.  Detectives continued the investigation which led them to Walker, Louisiana, located in Livingston Parish.  There detectives recovered several stolen four wheelers, a stolen trailer, and a tractor that was brought to a residence by Kevin Meaux.   Since his arrest, the thefts in the Lewisburg area have drastically decreased.

Kevin Tyler Meaux is currently incarcerated in the St. Landry Parish Jail with a $7,500.00 bond. This investigation is on-going and additional charges are forthcoming.

Kevin Meaux is suspect in numerous thefts and burglaries throughout St. Landry and Acadia parishes.  If you have purchased items from this individual in the past, detectives are asking that you contact the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division to verify if the items may be stolen.
