According to Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz, “On October 11, 2022, narcotics detectives with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office were conducting an undercover investigation and came into contact with Michael Roy Williams, who had “crack” cocaine in his possession.”
During the course of the investigation, Michael Williams provided detectives with written permission to search his cell phone for additional drug related crimes. While searching the phone, detectives inadvertently located downloaded videos containing child sexual abuse material.
When questioned by St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office juvenile detectives, Michael Roy Williams stated that he was searching for pornography and the child sexual abuse videos were displayed. Michael Williams admitted to saving the videos on his cellular device. Michael Williams also stated that he was in possession of several other devices which contained child sexual abuse material and those devices were located at his home.
On October 11, 2022, Michael Roy Williams was transported to the St. Landry Parish Jail and charged with 15 counts of Pornography Involving Juveniles.

Sheriff Guidroz stated, “To report an incident involving the possession, distribution, receipt, or production of child pornography, you can file a report on the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s website at www.cybertipline.com, or call 1-800-843-5678. Your report will be forwarded to a law enforcement agency for investigation and action.”
