It will be a postseason Mardi Gras Mambo for three of the four St. Landry Parish basketball teams remaining in the state playoffs.

North Central, Beau Chene and Northwest High, seeded in the Top 10 of their classifications, play Tuesday night in second round games.

J.S. Clark Leadership Academy which travels to play Fairview in a regional round Class B contest, tips off on Monday night.

Here’s a preview of what to expect:

LOGANSPORT (No.16) at NORTH CENTRAL (No.1)

When and Where: At North Central in LeBeau Tuesday at 6 p.m.

North Central has had to wait more than a week to continue the season after the Hurricanes received a first-round bye. North Central reached the Class 1A semifinals last season.

The scores so far: Logansport reached the second by defeating No. 17 Centerville 66-53.

Players to Watch: North Central – Devion Lavergne, Mckennis Savoie, Reginald Stoner, Jamarey Cane and Issac Doucet.

What’s Next: The winner plays either No. 9 East Iberville or No. 8 Grand Lake.  

NORTHSIDE (No. 12) at BEAU CHENE (No.5)

When and Where: At Beau Chene in Prairie Basse Tuesday at 6 p.m.

This could be a high-scoring game, as both teams like to play fast, crash the backboards and shoot from the outside. Beau Chene won the District 6-4A championship.

The scores so far: Northside defeated No. 21 Plaquemine 53-47. Beau Chene beat North Vermilion 64-72. Titus Thomas scored 31 for Beau Chene. De’vondrake Arvie scored 18 for the Gators.

Players to Watch: Beau Chene – Titus Thomas, De’vondrake Arvie, Cam’Ron Pierre, Jhykai Sharp, Ki’Sean Aggison. Northside – Zion McCoy, Tyler Harris, Jayden Dugas, Jamarian Johnnie.

What’s Next: The winner plays No. 13 Washington-Marion or No. 4 Hunington.

NORTHWEST (No.9) at SOPHIE WRIGHT (No.8)

When and Where: At Sophie Wright High School (New Orleans) 6 p.m. Tuesday

Northwest finished the season with an exceptional run that included a District 5-3A championship.

The scores so far: Northwest defeated No. 24 Mentorship Academy 69-56. Sophie Wright beat No. 15 Albany 54-34.

Players to watch: Northwest – John Jolivette, Chris Freeman.

What’s Next: The winner plays either No. 1 Madison Prep or No. 16 Martin Luther King Charter.

J.S. CLARK (No. 11) at FAIRVIEW (No. 6)

When and Where: At Fairview High 6 p.m. Monday

J.S. Clark is in the state playoffs again with a young team after finishing as a Class B semifinalist last year. The Bulldogs are in the first season under head coach Craig Castille.

The scores so far: Clark defeated No. 22 Hathaway 67-56. Fairview had a first-round bye.

Players to watch: J.S. Clark – Channing Arvie, Byrlen Tyler.

What’s Next: The winner plays either No. 3 Zwolle or No. 4 Stanley.
