Opelousas Police are investigating an apparent shooting incident in the rear of the North City Park in Opelousas. Just before 8:00 P.M. last evening Park Rangers contacted Opelousas Police after they discovered a male victim in the rear of north city park suffering from an apparent gun shot injury. Ambulances responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital with serious injuries. The victim’s condition appeared to be critical. The investigation is ongoing. More details will be released as they become available.
