The Crowley Art Association will be hosting a fundraising event– “Appetite for Art”–An evening of fine dining and visual arts!– a unique event which will place local artwork in the homes of those attending. The event will be held Aug27,2022 from 5:30 to 9:00PM at the LSU Ag Center,157N. Cherokee Drive, Crowley, Louisiana. Students of the Rayne High School ProStart Culinary program will be preparing and serving the meal to guests. Each meal ticket holder will receive a piece of art created and donated by a Crowley Art Association member. Tickets are $75 each and only 100 will be sold in advance at The Gallery, call 337-514-5114 for more information.
Art work consists of oil, acrylic and watercolor paintings, prints, sketches, drawings, photography, ornament sets, and 3-D art ranging in value from $50 to $1400. Meal tickets will be used to draw at random for ticket holders’ choice of artwork. Local artists donating pieces include: Bryan Bearb, Emma Broussard, Nicole Dahlquist, Claire Dore, Karen Fault, Gale Godeaux, Shirley Griffin, Leah Hoffpauir, Connie Kebodeaux, Peggy Leblanc, Dana Leger, Harold Letz, Mary Oakley, Dale Pousson, Patty Ronkartz, Samantha Ronkartz, Vanessa Schendel, and Jackie Louvierre.
The Crowley Art Gallery is located within the Crowley’s Historic Main Street Commercial District. The gallery houses local artists’ work for public viewing, provides art programming for all ages, and serves the community to awaken the cultural need for art. The Crowley Art Association subsidizes The Gallery with monies gained through sponsorships, workshops, raffles, and arts and craft shows held each year.
